In week 8’s class, we began play testing Everest.
In light of the previous week’s tragic earthquake in Nepal, killing thousands of people, we were questioning whether it was a good idea to continue pursuing our game. Another suggestion was brought up by Chris to change the name of the mountain to Mount Kailash, a Tibetan mountain in the vicinity of Mt Everest, but is more of a sacred mountain with more spiritual beliefs and myths attached to it. Not gonna lie, our team struggled to grasp the idea. We came to the class prepared with materials and ideas for Everest. However, I realise now that we can still include everything we have come up with, however add an extra element to the game, which is perhaps the ‘spiritual/fantasy’ aspect.
