Most of us will know that a game can be more that just an activity. It can be a contest, a fight between you and the game itself (getting that high-score), or it can be a rigorous competition amongst other players in the game.
With the introduction of the Internet, competitive multiplayer games have turned into this huge commodity in the game industry classed as ‘eSports’. Multiplayer games have grown a community of fans and players in their respective genres and created a booming market for it.
People might reiterate the stigma attached to video games being a dead-end road and waste of time, but that might not be the case as you’ll be shocked to hear that the prize pool for last year’s League of Legends Championship was over $2 million USD and that’s just one of the many games in the market.
