In many aspects of popular media, Australia has not always been the front-runner in terms of supply and demand. Particularly in the gaming industry we have just recently seen the closure of our last remaining AAA game developer 2K Australia.
Looking back at 2K’s catalogue, it’s really quite impressive to see what they’ve accomplished. It’s hard not to applaud what they’ve done with the acclaimed Bioshock series, winning several game of the year awards for each game. And despite Australia being an underdog in the gaming industry, they’ve been able to show the world that we’re capable of producing AAA games that are in close competition with the best of them.
