Playtest #3

THIS POST IS IN RELATION TO MY GAME DESIGN. (MORE INFO HERE: 1 | 2 ) (OTHER PLAYTESTS: 1 | 2 )

First and foremost, I have a working title: Expose Yourself. It plays upon the centrality of exposure in the game’s design, that all-to-familiar mantra from clients, “I’ll pay you in exposure”, while also being a double entendre to play to the tongue-in-cheek nature of the game.

Taking the revised plagiarism card to the larger group (Bernice, Caitlin, Daniel, Ben, and Zoltan) was a success!  The whole group agreed that it added a good element of play into the game, and there was a call for further cards which effected other players more, making it less of a game involving waiting for your next turn, and more of a game involving creating alliances with other players, in order to avoid being stabbed in the back down the line.

  1. I haven’t had the chance to play-test your game in class yet, but from what I’ve seen so far it’s coming along nicely. I think with your plagiarism concept, I think an extra level to this card would be the potential of getting caught plagiarising however I’m not sure how you would add this mechanic. I feel like your game could also work very well digitally where players would have a bar showing exposure as well as reputation – exposure could go up even during negative press, but then reputation would go down making it more difficult to get hired for future jobs. Kind of like on Airtasker where people receive a review that says whether they were helpful and did the job properly. Great work though!
