Exploring Game Narrative

Dawn's Disclosure


Narrative has always been an integral part of games and gaming culture, adding an element of story for players to enjoy. This week, we focused on developing a unique narrative for our group board game assignment. We decided to create a game based on restaurant management, in which 2-4 players would compete to see which individual restaurant would come out on top. Each player must complete certain requirements on their score board to gain stars; the person who reaches five stars first will win the game.

The requirements to fulfill will be categorized under:

  1. Food
  2. Customers
  3. Employees
  4. Building

These categories, as is in reality, are important aspects of a restaurant that will ultimately decide its success. To win the game, players must strategize and maintain their business so that every category flourishes.
