BCM300: Game Abstraction


Week 9 of BCM207 consisted of more idea development of our game idea and further play testing. During class, Chris spoke about the the concept of abstraction, and suggested that it is important that a game involves a certain degree of which.

I continued to add to my prototype and tweak rules to improve the quality of my game and also add abstraction. More play testing was conducted throughout the week, playing the game with both my family and quick run through’s by myself. Critical feedback was also received through my play testing group in class.

The more I play the game, the more I think about what concepts I could add to improve the complexity and abstraction too my game. The use of action cards is something I am considering the more I play. Action cards will introduce to the game obstacles and thus in turn increase the unpredictability…
