As a part of our group presentation pitch of Big Night Out – The party drinking game minus the drinking, I was apart of the overall game design.
Detailing my involvement, I was heavily involved with the initial idea and mechanics phase discussing the drinking game aspect and attaching that to the characters not the players, to point to and kind of make fun of basic drinking games and turn it into a simple role play game.
The game loop went through many changes and it was a group effort when something would be revamped, scraped or a completely new feature was added.
The themes of Australian alcoholism and the nightclub scene were fun to play around with when looking at this game. Many stereotypes can be used in the roleplay without the game rules guiding the players towards it.
