During the first three tutorials of BCM300, our class has been playtesting a range of boardgames. The game I have chosen to analyse is called Flash Point – a cooperative boardgame where all players work together to rescue people and animals from a burning building. I chose to analyse this game specifically because it was such a different experience to those I have played in the past, which have always been every man for himself.
Flash Point was designed by Kevin Lanzing, with the help of actual firefighters. It was originally published by Indie Boards & Cards in 2011, but has since been picked up by several other publishers, with a BoardGameGeek rating of 7/10. The game falls under the adventure category, can have up to 6 players, and has an average playing time of around 45 minutes.
