Is G2A strangling the gaming industry?

In my media ethnography will be exploring the relationship between an online video game market place known as G2A and it’s impact on the gaming industry.

More specifically I will investigate the sites impact on gamers, game makers, game distributors, game sellers and the macro environment.

I will seek answers to questions like, who is actually selling these keys online? Whilst also learning how the site’s market place operates.

Most of my findings will be collected from secondary sources found on the internet such as reports, scholarly articles and gaming journals.

I will also provide a first hand account of the G2A process, being used, start to finish. Documenting every touch point the site has with consumers.

After reviewing the round of feedback I receive (in the form of comments on my post) I will then adapt my research to better suit the investigation.
