Where are those Valve games?

Just earlier this year, Valve Corporation’s Steam reached 1 BILLION accounts, and over 90 million active users. It’s safe to say that Steam is THE largest gaming distribution platform in the world, which means, that Valve Corporation is well endowed with money they receive from the cuts they take from game sales, in-game virtual-item purchases, workshop items commissions, etc. It is clear to see that Valve has put an astounding amount of time, effort and money into their universally-used platform and that this has reciprocated back into the banks of Valve employees.


While an extreme majority of Steam’s financial revenue derives from third-party developed games, Fung makes the observation that Valve’s successful business model business can be attributed to the fact that Valve’s games themselves are some of the most popular games on Steam ever, and that the exclusivity of having Valve games (majoritively) only being accessible by Steam…
