The way I went about doing my round of comments was very similar to how I did it last time. I would go onto their blog post, read and watch their video and then think about how I could possibly help them.
I wanted to give everyone at least two links or pieces of advice. For some this was to send people they wished to interview an online survey as that is way more tome efficient. Others I found some scholarly articles that might of helped them. I offered my positive opinion on their idea.
I learnt a lot…. I had a broad range of ideas that I commented on. One was on sound and music with in video games. This is something I have never thought about, but I have realised how important it really is.
For Isaacs comment I sent him a case study on music on 3 other games that I think could possibly help him or give him some background info for further analysis. I also sent him a scholarly article on background music in video games. I suggested for him to put a survey on his sound cloud, because people who are listening most likely would want to get involved with his research.
Another DA I commented on was Rachel’s, which was about video games and the benefit they have to training professional athletes. This DA topic immediately rang a bell in my head with people using a Nintendo Wii to train and do rehab. I gave Rachel a link to some research on that topic as I think it would be of interest to her.
I also got to comment on Anh Thi’s blog about the game In a Dangerous Space-time. She is looking into the deeper meaning of this game and I unpacking it. She has made some really good progress and I am interested to see her final finished DA.
It has been a positive experience to get an insight into other class mates ideas and interests within the game media cloud.
I got a broader sense of what can be down as DA in this subject. My horizon has been broadened and I have been inspired to look into my DA and possibly change it. There are so many more possibilities than what I thought when I started. I will also be re assessing my group DA and talking to my partner about potentially taking on a new path. I think I completed these comments much faster and more efficient than the last round on our pitches. I hope this round of comments will help my class much as much as my first round did.
