In week one we were introduced to the notion of games and their overall meaning; why we play them, what they mean and what experiences we derive from them. To delve into these concepts, we split into groups to undertake a variety of games to develop our understanding further.

In a group of six, we were presented with the game ‘Coup‘. A card game that successfully incorporates strategy, tactics and bluffing.  The game was simple to grasp, although in order to gain more insight into the tactics and bluffing mechanics, a practice round was needed.

Coup had some very similar game mechanics to that of ‘Cheat’, ‘Poker’ and ‘Werewolf’, all of which I thoroughly enjoy due to the game play and overall strategy required.
