Monopoly. UNO. Guess who?
These were the traditional board games that came to mind when thinking of my past gameplay experiences. My knowledge didn’t branch out too far from that until some kittens, burritos and spies were shuffled into my deck, and my game experience evolved.
Exploding Kittens
I haven’t played a board game since the 8th grade, so being introduced to Matthew Inman and Elan Lee’s designed game ‘Exploding Kittens’ was intriguing and unusual, to say the least. The card game was published and illustrated by comic site, The Oatmeal in 2015 despite being proposed as a Kickstarter projectseeking $10,000 (USD).

Recommended for ages above 7, this strategic card game is about cats and destruction. It took us a total of 15minutes to read the instruction manual and understand the game as some of the vital game mechanics were new to us.
