As a participant in the production of food media through the creation of my DA “Needing a Feeding”, I was familiar with how social media was used to represent food media. This is why I wanted to combine this production with a different medium of food media, a Nintendo DS game “Cooking Mama”. With these two mediums I created Cooking Mama recreation recipes, which combined original game play from the DS game with footage of me replicating the cooking techniques from the game. This ongoing Instagram digital artefact alongside my background research allowed me to produce a blog report analysing food media’s impact contrasted between the two platforms (social media and gaming).
