What Makes A Bad Game Bad?

As far as bad games go, the consensus tends to be that Superman 64 is one of the worst. There are a plethora of online forums and Youtube videos supporting this argument, complete with commentary as players attempt to navigate glitchy controls.

The premise of this 1999 Nintendo 64 game, published by Titus Interactive, is simple. Lex Luthor has kidnapped Superman’s friends and trapped them in a virtual reality. Superman must successfully complete the challenges laid out by Luthor in order to get them back. This story is told through newspaper clippings and cutscenes between each level. Sounds good so far, right?

Unfortunately, this proved to be wrong. The challenges laid out by Luthor are limited to flying through rings, lifting cars and beating some poorly animated bosses.
